Today marked the day that sara came and got her stuff after fighting tooth and nail with her to come get it for several days. I had the decency to pack her things up nicely for her in a small cardboard box and singled it away from mine in a lonely corner in my room.
She came in the early afternoon hours later than promised, followed me up to my room, held a civil fifteen minute conversation, took everything but the box, walked down to her car and drove away. And with the awkward silence to her car, we had an understanding that we knew what this meant...and neither one of us spoke against it when it mattered.
I'm not sorry for standing up for what's right. I'm just sad that the wrong things ruined a friendship.
