It's week five and counting. Although Jamaal is on the sixth step, my concerns are growing. In the middle of treatments, it seems as if he slips back into the cold grasp of his depression, crying. Which is followed by long hyperventilating sessions and finally, purging. We believe the cigarette and medication mix is causing these scary episodes. Understanding the progress he has made, I'm afraid to tell him we may have to cut his nicotine intake. I'm afraid he might want to leave the program and cause harm to not only himself but to others as well.
Recently, I've notived he zones out and paces around his room, mumbling something under his breath. Could this be another Krissy rant? He waves his hands frantically and shakes his head as if he is possessed, under a trance. We've gone in to try to see if we can help him but have failed numerous times. I feel it is one of those things where he snaps out of it himself, not remembering the events that just took place. How scary?
What is triggering this?
Why is this happening to him?
