It took Jamaal a while to remember his name or birthday. Nothing else. He doesn't fully understand where here is. The psychologists and examiners have tried on several accounts to find out what happened. And most importantly to try to figure out who is Krissy and why was he so sorry. For what?
Our leading psychologists have diagnosed Jamaal with narcissism, severe depression and borderline bi-polar syndrome. As expected for his conditions, he denied the consultation and didn't take the news well.
However, he seems to be adapting to the medication so well that we took him off the iv's. We aren't sure if he's taking the oral medication just to shut us up or if he really wants to get better, but whatever the case, we are skeptical and will monitor him closely.
He seems to be getting some strength back along with an uncandid vocabulary and a practical sense of humor. His cravings for alcohol and cigarettes hace been kicking in at random times. Against his daily and frequent requests, our staff has denied his alcohol. However, he is a hard man to bargain with, so we give him filtered medically perscribed cigarettes in celebration of unforced cooperation and good behavior. This training method seems to be the only thing getting him through the day. We're not sure how long this side of Jamaal will last, but for now, it seems to keep him calm...whatever it takes.
I'm noticing that he is struggling to recover the small fragments of the life he once had. To prevent an emotional breakdown, our counseling sessions are getting shorter.
..but progress is being made. Timidly. Slowly.
